Before the Tide

Every tide leaves something behind. Some bring fish. Some bring plastic. Some bring roads, markets, tourists and progress. Others quietly erase the worlds that taught us how to live with the sea. These photographs were made before the tide reached its highest mark in the Bajao Laut sealand.
